CPD observation and adjustment workshop for Yoga TeachersWorkshop
21 April 09:30 - 12:30
In this CPD weekend workshop the aim is to help you further understand how to develop all the different aspects of learning to adjust a student well. We want you to leave the weekend feeling more confident in your ability to look at each of your students individually, after all they all have very different bodies, and levels of experience, and be able to confidently enhance your students experience of asana practice by tailoring the adjustment to their unique requirements.
Amongst many things we will cover:
observing skills, how to really look at the students from an anatomical perspective so that you can make the correct adjustment for them,
help you understand where the student needs length or space in their body to promote good alignment and to enhance the breath,
how to use your own body weight to make the adjustment as effective as possible for the student whilst keeping them and yourself safe,
how to help students adapt when they are dealing with injury.
Jo learned much of her adjusting techniques from her own teacher David Keil, attending many of his adjusting and observation workshops. As an astanga mysore teacher for almost a decade Jo has spent thousands of hours adjusting students of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities, not just in the astanga classes but in all other styles of classes in her studio as well. She also teaches many observation and adjustment workshops as part of her 200 hr yoga teacher training, as well as mentoring her teaching assistants in her mysore room.
Jo is a senior registered teacher and teacher trainer with both the Yoga Alliance in the USA and Yoga Alliance Professionals in the UK (formerly Yoga Alliance UK) so the CPD hours from this course will be valid with both organisations.
The course is suitable for all styles of yoga teacher. Participants should already be 200 hour qualified teachers or teachers in training.
