"C’mere till I tell ye, ‘mere till you see
In psyche and geography
I’m talking about the area greater"
Premièred to glowing reviews at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe, Greater Belfast – originally developed at the Tron Theatre – is a bittersweet love-letter to musician/performer Matt Regan’s home city. Song, storytelling, poetic spoken word and instrumental composition – also featuring the Cairn String Quartet – merge in a personal exploration of Belfast’s history before, during and since the Troubles, richly couched in pungent local idioms, matching poignantly heartfelt lyricism with caustic black humour.
