    Barbados Celtic Festival

  • When
    24 May 17:00 - 20:00
  • Barbados Celtic Festival is a celebration through music and food of our cultural connections between the Celtic Countries of Scotland Ireland Wales Nova Scotia and other parts of Europe and Barbados. Barbados is steeped in a history through the sugar trade involving white indentured servants from Scotland and Ireland whose descendants still live on the island. Independence Day is our Scottish Saint Andrews Day 30th November. The Scottish Saltire Cross is on the Barbados emblem, as a slaves hand holding crossed sugar canes. The festival events include music from the Pipes and Drums from around the world, steel pan, fiddles and folk music. A plethora of events include our Official Parade through Bridgetown with the Massed Bands. A Ceilidh, folk concerts large and small, open mic, food events with Chef Paul Wedgwood our Head Chef fusing recipes and dishes from both sides of the Atlantic. see more details at www.barbadoscelticfestival.com
